To Everyone Pretending They Have Their Shit Together: Stop Lying

While You’re Watching People Live Their Dreams on TikTok, Your Classmates Are Actually Building Them. Here’s the Difference.

Hey,

Let’s be real for a second.

You just spent 3 hours watching strangers live interesting lives on your phone. Again.

That girl who started a clothing brand at 17? You hearted her video. That guy who built an app that made him $100K? You shared his story. That teen who gave a TED talk about changing education? You commented “goals.”

But what did YOU build today?

Nothing. And you know it.

The Dirty Secret Every “Successful” Teen Is Hiding

You know that kid in your grade who seems to have it all figured out? The one writing killer college essays about their “passion project”?

They were exactly where you are six months ago. Lost AF. Scrolling through the same FYP. Feeling like everyone else got a manual for life except them.

The only difference? They joined something that changed everything.

Not another BS school club where you sit in a circle and talk about feelings. Not another resume-padding activity that means nothing. Not another adult-led program where you pretend to care.

They found COE. And now they’re building while you’re still watching.

Welcome to the Covenant of Education (Where We Actually Do Stuff)

Look, we’re not going to lie to you like every other program.

We’re not here to “inspire” you with motivational quotes. We’re not here to make you feel better about being lost. We’re not here to prepare you for some boring future you don’t even want.

We’re here to help you build something that matters. Right now. While you’re still in high school.

  • That app idea you’ve been thinking about? Build it.
  • That YouTube channel you’re scared to start? Launch it.
  • That business that sounds “unrealistic”? Create it.
  • That movement you wish existed? Lead it.

What Actually Happens at COE (No BS Version)

Every Tuesday after school, we meet.

Not to talk about our feelings (though if you’re falling apart, we got you). Not to plan another car wash fundraiser. Not to listen to adults tell us what we should want.

We meet to BUILD.

Week 1: You figure out what you actually give a damn about (harder than it sounds) Week 2: You start a project around it (scarier than it sounds) Week 3: You get feedback from people actually doing it (cooler than it sounds) Week 4: You have something real to show (better than it sounds)

Month 2: You’re deeper into your build than you thought possible Month 3: You’re teaching others what you learned Month 6: You have a story that makes college essays write themselves

Real Students. Real Builds. Real Results.

Marcus, 17: “I was the kid vaping in the bathroom, failing three classes. COE taught me to code. Just sold my first website for $2K. My parents think I’m on drugs because I’m suddenly motivated. Nah, I just finally found something worth doing.”

Sophia, 16: “Depression had me in a chokehold. Couldn’t see a future worth living for. Started a mental health podcast through COE. 10K downloads now. Turns out helping others helped me. Also, Stanford wants to meet me?”

James, 18: “Was going to major in business because I had no ideas. COE helped me launch a sustainable fashion brand. Did $5K in sales junior year. Harvard said it was the best application they’d seen. Still can’t believe this is my life.”

Aisha, 17: “Parents wanted me to be a doctor. I wanted to die. COE showed me I could build a career in music production. Produced 12 tracks, got signed to a small label. Parents are still confused but supportive. I wake up excited now.”

The Part Where We Tell You What You Already Know

You’re not stupid. You know the game is rigged.

  • School teaches you to memorize, not create
  • Adults say “follow your passion” but never show you how
  • College costs $200K to prepare you for jobs that won’t exist
  • Everyone’s anxious, depressed, and pretending they’re not
  • Social media makes you feel worse while promising to connect you

The system isn’t broken. It’s working exactly as designed. Just not for you.

COE is the cheat code. The backdoor. The way out.

While everyone else is playing by rules that don’t work, we’re writing our own.

“But I Don’t Know What I Want to Do”

Perfect. Neither did we.

That’s literally the point.

COE isn’t for people who have it figured out. It’s for people who are tired of pretending they do.

You don’t need a plan. You don’t need talent. You don’t need connections.

You just need to be done with the BS and ready to try something different.

The Truth About Your Next 4 Years

Option A: The Default Path

  • Senior year: Panic apply to colleges
  • Freshman year: Realize you hate your major
  • Sophomore year: Switch majors, add debt
  • Junior year: Anxiety about careers you don’t want
  • Senior year: Graduate lost with a piece of paper

Option B: The COE Path

  • This year: Build something real
  • Next year: Have a story that matters
  • College: Know exactly why you’re there
  • After: Have skills and projects that actually count
  • Forever: Know you can build anything from nothing

What It Actually Costs (The Real Talk)

Money: Free. We’re a nonprofit. We’re not trying to profit off your anxiety.

Time: 2 hours a week. You spend more time on one Netflix binge.

Ego: You’ll have to admit you don’t have it figured out. (Spoiler: Nobody does.)

Comfort: You’ll have to try things that might fail. (Spoiler: Failure is data.)

Return: A life you actually want to live. (No spoiler. Just facts.)

The Part Where We Get Real About Mental Health

Half of you are struggling with anxiety. A third of you have contemplated whether life is worth it. Most of you feel like you’re drowning while everyone else is swimming.

We see you. We’ve been you. Some of us still are you.

COE isn’t therapy (get that if you need it—seriously).

But there’s something healing about building. About creating. About finding your people who get it.

The best antidote to anxiety about the future? Building it yourself.

You Have Three Choices Right Now

Choice 1: Keep Scrolling Pretend this doesn’t apply to you. Watch another 50 TikToks. Feel worse. Repeat tomorrow.

Choice 2: “Maybe Later” Screenshot this. Tell yourself you’ll think about it. Never do anything. Wonder “what if” forever.

Choice 3: Join Us Click the link. Show up Tuesday. Start building. Change everything.

Here’s What Happens Next

Step 1: Click “Join COE at My School”

Step 2: Fill out the 60-second interest form (literally 4 questions)

Step 3: Get the details for your school’s chapter (or start one if it doesn’t exist)

Step 4: Show up to the next meeting

Step 5: Start building your actual life instead of watching others live theirs

The Uncomfortable Question

In 10 years, do you want to be scrolling through success stories or telling them?

Because right now, today, in this moment, you’re deciding.

Every COE member was exactly where you are. Lost. Scrolling. Pretending.

The only difference? They clicked the damn link.

Still Reading? Still Hesitating?

Fine. Here’s the real real:

We don’t need you. COE is growing with or without you. Your classmates are building with or without you. The future is happening with or without you.

But you need this.

You need to prove to yourself that you’re more than a consumer. You need to find out what you’re capable of. You need to stop watching and start doing.

Not for your college application. Not for your parents. Not for your future resume.

For you. For the person you could be if you just started.

Last Thing (And It’s Important)

That feeling you have right now? That mix of excitement and terror? That voice saying “maybe I could actually do something”?

That’s your real self trying to break through.

Let them.

P.S. — Your friend who seems to have their shit together? They’re probably already in COE. Ask them.

P.P.S. — If there’s no COE at your school yet, you could be the one who starts it. Just saying.

P.P.P.S. — Still think this is just another school club? Come to one meeting. If we’re wrong, roast us on TikTok. If we’re right, your whole life changes. Worth the risk?

“The future belongs to the builders. Everything else is just content.”
